Quasimoto è l'alter ego del produttore hip hop Madlib, originario di Oxnard, California. Il progetto musicale si distingue per la voce alzata di Quasimoto, simile a quella ottenuta inalando elio. Un altro elemento distintivo è il continuo scambio vocale tra Quasimoto e Madlib. In una sessione in studio, Madlib decise di rappare sulle proprie basi ma non apprezzò il suono della sua voce (i suoi amici a Oxnard lo chiamano 'Barry White' per la sua voce profonda). Decise quindi di rallentare il registratore, rappare lentamente e poi accelerare nuovamente l'audio per ottenere la voce acuta caratteristica di Quasimoto. Il progetto ha visto la luce con l'album "The Unseen" del 2000, seguito da altri lavori come "A Wise Guy" (2001) e "The Further Adventures of Lord Quas" (2007). Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "Rappcats", "The World Is Yours" e "Walkin' On The Moon".
