Mae è una rock band americana formatasi a Norfolk, Virginia nel 2001. Il nome del gruppo è un acronimo di "Multi-sensory Aesthetic Experience", ispirato ad un corso seguito dal batterista Jacob Marshall durante il suo periodo come studente presso l'Old Dominion University. Il sound di Mae si caratterizza per una fusione di elementi indie rock, emo e post-rock, con influenze progressive e sperimentali. Tra i brani più rappresentativi figurano "The Reason", "Gravity" e "Falling Away". L'album di debutto del gruppo, "Destination: Beautiful", risale al 2003 e ha riscosso un discreto successo tra gli appassionati di musica indie. Nel corso degli anni, Mae ha collaborato con artisti come The Used e Taking Back Sunday.
