In Flames è una band svedese di melodic death metal formatasi a Göteborg nel 1990. Considerati pionieri del suono gothenborghese, insieme ad altri gruppi come Dark Tranquillity e At the Gates, hanno contribuito a definire questo genere musicale caratterizzato da riff heavy, melodie orecchiabili e testi spesso oscuri. Il gruppo ha attraversato diverse fasi evolutive nel corso della sua carriera, passando da sonorità più brutali e underground a un sound più moderno e accessibile al grande pubblico. Tra i loro album più importanti figurano "The Jester Race" (1996), "Clayman" (1998) e "Reroute to Remain" (2006). In Flames ha collaborato con numerosi artisti, tra cui Michael Amott di Arch Enemy e Anders Fridén dei Dark Tranquillity. Alcuni dei loro brani più rappresentativi sono "Only for the Weak", "The Quiet Place", "Take This Life" e "Through My Eyes".
