Lissie è una cantautrice e musicista americana, nota per il suo potente timbro vocale e la sua musica folk-rock influenzata dal blues. Nata come Elizabeth Maurus in Illinois nel 1983, ha iniziato a suonare la chitarra all'età di sette anni. Dopo aver trascorso un periodo a Nashville, si è trasferita a Chicago dove ha formato il gruppo The Plimsouls. Nel 2010 ha pubblicato il suo album di debutto "Catching a Tiger", che ha ricevuto ampi consensi dalla critica e l'ha lanciata verso la fama internazionale. Il suo secondo album, "Why You Runnin'", del 2013, ha consolidato il suo successo con brani come "In Sleep" e "Further Away (This Time)". Lissie è nota per le sue performance energiche e coinvolgenti, che spesso includono elementi di blues e soul.
