Mott the Hoople sono stati una rock band inglese con radici forti nell'R and B, dominanti durante l'epoca glam rock degli anni '70. Sono noti per la canzone "All the Young Dudes", scritta per loro da David Bowie e presente nel loro album del 1972 omonimo. La band ha visto il successo con altri singoli come "Roll Away the Stone" e "The Golden Age of Wireless". Il gruppo, originario di Londra, era composto da Ian Hunter (voce), Mick Ralphs (chitarra), Verden Allen (tastiere), Dale Griffin (basso) e Buffin (batteria). Mott the Hoople hanno contribuito a definire il suono glam rock con un mix di hard rock, melodie orecchiabili e testi spesso ironici. La loro musica ha influenzato numerose band successive e continua ad essere apprezzata dagli appassionati di rock.
