Swallow the Sun è una band finlandese di metal melodico/doom, attiva dal 1996. Conosciuti per la loro atmosfera cupa e malinconica, i brani della band si caratterizzano per un mix di sonorità death metal aggressive e momenti melodici introspettivi. Il sound di Swallow the Sun è influenzato da artisti come My Dying Bride, Paradise Lost e Katatonia. Tra le canzoni più rappresentative figurano "The Only One", "Stone Wings" e "Ghosts of Love". L'album "Hope" del 2003 ha segnato un punto di svolta nella carriera della band, consolidando il loro successo internazionale.
