Cruachan è una band heavy metal proveniente da Dublino, Irlanda, attiva dal 1990. Considerati pionieri del folk metal, sono noti per aver esplorato le frontiere del genere integrando elementi tradizionali irlandesi con sonorità metal pesanti. Il nome della band deriva dal sito archeologico di Rathcroghan in Irlanda, noto anche come Cruachan. La loro musica è caratterizzata da riff heavy, melodie folcloristiche e testi che spesso trattano temi storici e mitologici irlandesi. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si annoverano "The Serpent's Tongue", "The Battle of Clontarf" e "Tuatha Dé Danann". Cruachan ha pubblicato numerosi album, tra cui "Folk-Lore" (1998), "Midwinter Night's Dream" (2001) e "Blood on the Fields" (2004).
