Deceased è una band di death/thrash metal proveniente dalla Virginia, Stati Uniti. Fondata nel 1984 dal batterista e vocalist King Fowley, la band è stata il primo gruppo a firmare con l'etichetta Relapse Records. Durante la loro lunga carriera hanno pubblicato quattro album in studio tramite Relapse, insieme a numerosi EP, demo e riedizioni di demo precedenti. Nel 2003 Deceased ha lasciato Relapse per firmare con Thrash Corner, continuando a pubblicare materiale fino ad oggi. Sebbene lo stile della band sia cambiato nel corso degli anni, trasformandosi in un mix di thrash e heavy metal con vocalità più dure rispetto al suono death metal crudo dei loro primi lavori, il nucleo del sound Deceased rimane incentrato sulla potenza ritmica di Fowley e sui testi horror che vengono urlati, a volte narrati, dal cantante. Le canzoni spesso passano attraverso diversi cambiamenti di tempo e firma, mentre le chitarre si muovono rapidamente da riff a riff.
