Kataklysm è una band canadese di death metal attiva dal 1991. Considerati pionieri del genere "northern hyperblast", termine coniato in seguito a un annuncio su M.E.A.T. magazine che descriveva Fear Factory come "hyperblast". Questo termine si riferisce alle veloci e intricate blast beats tipiche del batterista Max Duhamel, che vengono integrate alla musica della band. Con oltre 10 album pubblicati, Kataklysm ha guadagnato un seguito internazionale grazie al loro sound aggressivo e tecnico. Tra i brani più rappresentativi figurano "March of the Betrayers", "The Kill Room" e "Soul of a Dying World".
