Mark Murphy (1932-2015) è stato un cantante statunitense di jazz noto per il suo uso del vocalese, uno stile vocale in cui le parole vengono adattate alle melodie e eseguite in sinfonia o in maniera improvvisata. Nato a New York, Murphy ha iniziato la sua carriera negli anni '50, collaborando con musicisti come Chet Baker, Gerry Mulligan e Bill Evans. Il suo stile vocale era caratterizzato da una grande sensibilità melodica e un'eccezionale capacità di imitare gli strumenti musicali.
