Symphony X è un gruppo musicale statunitense di progressive symphonic metal formatosi nel New Jersey negli anni '90. Fondato dal chitarrista Michael Romeo e dal tastierista Michael Pinnella, il gruppo ha guadagnato fama per la sua musica complessa e virtuosistica, che fonde elementi di power metal, neoclassicismo e thrash metal. Le loro composizioni spesso includono arrangiamenti orchestrali elaborati e testi ispirati a temi fantastici, mitologici e filosofici. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "The Odyssey", "Guardian of Forever" e "Into the Labyrinth". L'album di debutto, "Falling to Pieces" (1997), ha segnato l'inizio di una carriera prolifica che ha visto Symphony X pubblicare otto album in studio fino ad oggi. Il gruppo è considerato uno dei pilastri del progressive metal americano, influenzando numerose band emergenti nel genere.

La storica band mod torinese Statuto ristampa due classici della propria discografia, a partire da venerdì 13 febbraio saranno infatti disponibili per Sony Music gli album "Tempi Moderni" del 1997 e "Riskatto" del 1999.
