Immortal è una storica band norvegese di black metal, attiva dal 1990. Considerati uno dei gruppi più influenti del genere, sono noti per il loro sound crudo e aggressivo, caratterizzato da riff veloci, blast beat incessanti e testi incentrati su temi oscuri come la mitologia nordica, l'inverno e la morte. Tra i brani più rappresentativi figurano "Blashyrkh (Mayhem's Anthem)", "Grim and Frostbitten Kingdoms" e "Where Mountains Rise". L'album di debutto, "Pure Holocaust", uscito nel 1993, è considerato un classico del black metal. Immortal ha collaborato con altri artisti del genere come Mayhem e Emperor. La band continua ad essere attiva anche oggi, pubblicando nuovi album e partecipando a festival internazionali.
