Vio-lence è stata una band thrash metal formatasi a San Francisco nel 1985. Considerata una delle più importanti realtà del movimento Bay Area thrash, ha pubblicato diversi demo, un EP e tre album in studio tra il 1985 e il 1993. La formazione più stabile vedeva Phil Demmel e Robb Flynn alla chitarra, Deen Dell al basso, Perry Strickland alla batteria e Sean Killian al voce. Vio-lence è stata apprezzata per la sua musica aggressiva e tecnica, influenzata da band come Slayer e Metallica. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano 'Torture', 'Bloodlust' e 'World in Pain'.
