Terry Allen è un artista americano nato nel 1947, noto per la sua musica country outlaw e le sue opere d'arte concettuali. Inizia la sua carriera come pittore negli anni '60, collaborando con artisti come Jimmie Dale Gilmore e Townes Van Zandt. Nel 1972 pubblica il suo primo album, "Lubbock (On Everything)", un lavoro che mescola country, folk e rock, influenzato dalla cultura del Texas rurale. Allen è considerato uno dei pionieri dell'outlaw country, con testi spesso introspettivi e narrativi che esplorano temi come la solitudine, l'amore perduto e la vita nel West americano. Tra i suoi album più importanti ricordiamo "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" (1975) e "Amarillo Highway" (1980). Allen continua a produrre musica e ad esporre le sue opere d'arte fino ai giorni nostri, rimanendo un artista influente nel panorama musicale americano.
