Dreadful Shadows è una band tedesca di gothic metal formatasi a Berlino nel 1993. Inizialmente parte del movimento gothic rock e dark wave, la band ha sviluppato considerevolmente il proprio sound al momento della pubblicazione dell'album d'esordio, incorporando elementi metallici ed elettronica moderna, portando ad una classificazione all'interno del genere gothic metal. Dreadful Shadows si è sciolta nel 2000 per dedicarsi a progetti individuali.
