Grandmaster Flash, pseudonimo di Joseph Robert Saddler, è un disc jockey barbadiano naturalizzato statunitense considerato uno dei padri fondatori della musica hip hop. Nato a Barbados nel 1958, si trasferì negli Stati Uniti all'età di sette anni e iniziò la sua carriera musicale nei club di New York alla fine degli anni '70. Flash è noto per aver inventato diverse tecniche di scratch e mix come cutting, backspinning e punch-praising, che hanno rivoluzionato il DJing e influenzato generazioni di artisti hip hop.
