Dark Funeral è una band di black metal proveniente da Stoccolma, Svezia. Considerati uno dei gruppi emersi durante la seconda ondata del black metal svedese, hanno contribuito a definire il suono e l'estetica del genere negli anni '90. Il loro stile musicale è caratterizzato da sonorità veloci, aggressive e atmosferiche, con influenze dal death metal e dall'heavy metal classico. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "The Secrets of the Black Arts", "Unholy Trinity" e "Where Shadows Forever Reign". L'album di debutto "In the})`s Embrace (1996) è considerato un punto di riferimento per il black metal svedese, mentre "Vows for Destruction" (2001) ha consolidato la loro posizione come una delle band più influenti del genere. Dark Funeral ha collaborato con artisti come Lord Ahriman dei Marduk e ha partecipato a numerosi festival di musica heavy metal in tutto il mondo.
