Ayreon è un progetto musicale progressive rock fondato nel 1995 dall'olandese Arjen Anthony Lucassen. Lucassen, compositore e polistrumentista di talento, ha concepito Ayreon come un concept album narrativo in cui diverse voci cantano i ruoli di personaggi immaginari all'interno di una storia fantascientifica complessa.
