Gli Steel Train sono stati una band indie rock americana formatasi a New York nel 1999, guidata dal talentuoso Jack Antonoff. Antonoff, noto per la sua carriera successiva come produttore e musicista solista, ha fondato il gruppo insieme ad altri membri provenienti da diverse esperienze musicali. Gli Steel Train hanno raggiunto una certa popolarità negli anni 2000 grazie al loro sound caratterizzato da melodie orecchiabili, testi introspettivi e un'energia live contagiosa. Il loro album di debutto, "The Logic of the Universe", pubblicato nel 2003, ha segnato l'inizio della loro ascesa.
