Megadeth è una band di thrash metal statunitense formatasi a Los Angeles nel 1983. Fondata dal chitarrista e cantante Dave Mustaine, ex membro dei Metallica, il gruppo ha rapidamente guadagnato fama per la sua musica aggressiva, complessa e politicamente carica. Dave Mustaine è stato il chitarrista solista dei Metallica dal 1981 al 1983. I dissidi con James Hetfield sancirono la fine del sodalizio ma, nello stesso anno, fondò i Megadeth.
