Dark Angel è una storica band di thrash metal proveniente da Los Angeles, California. Attiva dal 1983 al 1992 e poi riunitasi nel 2005, la band ha contribuito in modo significativo alla scena thrash americana con un sound aggressivo e tecnico. Il loro album di debutto, *Darkness Descends*, pubblicato nel 1986, è considerato un classico del genere. Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "The Burning of Sodom", "Leave Scars", e "Merciless Death". La band ha collaborato con artisti come Slayer e Megadeth, contribuendo a definire l'estetica e il sound del thrash metal negli anni '80.
