Digable Planets è un gruppo hip hop alternativo americano formatosi a New York City negli anni '90. Il trio è composto da Ishmael "Butterfly" Butler (nato a Seattle), Craig "Doodlebug" Irving (da Philadelphia) e Mary Ann "Ladybug Mecca" Vieira (da Washington, D.C.). Il gruppo era supportato dal produttore Silkworm, che in seguito ha intrapreso una carriera solista con il nome King Britt. Digable Planets sono noti per la loro musica jazz-influenzata, testi intelligenti e flow unico. Il loro album di debutto "Reachin' a New Peak" (1993) è considerato un classico dell'hip hop alternativo e ha generato successi come "Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat)" e "The Next Episode". Il gruppo si è sciolto nel 1996, ma i suoi membri hanno continuato a lavorare in progetti musicali separati.
