Hi-Tek, pseudonimo di Tony Cottrell, è un rapper, DJ e produttore discografico statunitense nato a New York. Attivo dal tardo anni '90, Hi-Tek è noto per il suo stile production caratterizzato da campionamenti jazz e funk, che ha contribuito a definire l'hip hop underground degli anni 2000. È principalmente famoso per i suoi lavori con il duo Reflection Eternal, formato con Talib Kweli, e come produttore nell'album di debutto del gruppo Black Star, Mos Def and Talib Kweli are Black Star. Tra le sue produzioni più celebri figurano "The World Is Yours" di Nas, "Get Up" di Common e "Love of My Life (An Ode to Hip-Hop)" di A Tribe Called Quest. Hi-Tek ha collaborato con numerosi artisti hip hop di spicco, tra cui De La Soul, Erykah Badu e The Roots. Il suo album solista del 2001, "Hi-Teknology", è considerato un classico dell'hip hop underground.
