I've been waiting for my time to appear to me
And tell the secrets of the willow tree
I heard your future rustles in the breeze
And carries rumours like the birds and the bees
And does it really put your mind at ease
To step back at the fact that you're standing here
Where you've always dreamed
And I had this vision before
When everybody comes a-knockin' to my door
Took a moment to gather their senses
Clean the bullshit smeared right across their lenses
Blinded by the big, big lights and the talk so cheap
One time lucky at the top but the fall is steep
Hand-built the pyramid one by one
While you flew first class into the sun
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Where there's smoke there's fire
Take me up just a little bit higher
Hot damn, try to rip off your plans
Win a free ride back to Neverland
Oh man, see I don't understand
But I can feel the rain peeling pain from my hands
Open up the floodgates and let it pour in
Kill the ego, 'cause you're never gonna win
I've been waiting way too long
Checking my watch like is this thing on
Did my time and I paid my dues
I mean, y'all ain't tryna walk a day in my shoes
Yeah Imma get what I've been asking for
Quitting won't even make the last resort, I mean
I be reaching for the stars, ain't no astronaut
It's Romey Rome and homie Tash of course
And I had this vision before
When everybody comes a-knockin' to my door
Took a moment to gather their senses
Clean the bullshit smeared right across their lenses
Blinded by the big, big lights and the talk so cheap
One time lucky at the top but the fall is steep
Hand-built the pyramid one by one
While you flew first class into the sun
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Where there's smoke there's fire
Take me up just a little bit higher
Hot damn, try to rip off your plans
Win a free ride back to Neverland
Oh man, see I don't understand
But I can feel the rain peeling pain from my hands
Open up the floodgates and let it pour in
Kill the ego, 'cause you're never gonna win
