The Alarm sono un gruppo rock alternativo originario del Galles settentrionale, emersi alla fine degli anni '70. Inizialmente una band mod, hanno mantenuto la formazione per oltre dieci anni. A differenza di molte altre band rock, hanno mostrato influenze marcate dalla lingua e dalla cultura gallese. Apriendo per artisti come U2 e Bob Dylan, sono diventati una popolare band rock alternativo degli anni '80, mantenendo un seguito fedele fino ad oggi. Tra i loro brani più rappresentativi figurano "The Stand", "Blaze of Glory", "Rain in the Summertime" e "Spirit of '76".
