Heathen è una band di thrash metal americana originaria della Bay Area di San Francisco, fondata nel 1984 dal chitarrista Lee Altus e dal batterista Carl Sacco. Considerati uno dei pilastri del movimento thrash metal californiano, hanno contribuito a definire il genere con un suono aggressivo e tecnico. Tra i loro album più noti figurano *Breaking the Silence* (1987), *Victims of Deception* (1991) e *The Evolution of Chaos* (2010). Heathen ha collaborato con numerosi artisti del panorama metal, tra cui Exodus e Testament. Il loro stile musicale è caratterizzato da riff veloci, batteria potente e testi che affrontano temi come la disillusione sociale e la critica politica.
