Bear vs. Shark era una band post-hardcore proveniente da Highland, nel Michigan. Attiva tra la fine degli anni '90 e l'inizio degli anni 2000, il gruppo si è distinto per un sound caratterizzato da sonorità aggressive e melodie orecchiabili, influenzato dal math rock e dall'emo. Tra i brani più rappresentativi figurano "The Ballad of the Broken Heart", "The Great Escape" e "The Last Goodbye". Bear vs. Shark ha pubblicato due album in studio: "Here Comes the End" (2001) e "Shark Attack!" (2003). Nonostante la breve durata della loro carriera, hanno lasciato un segno significativo nel panorama musicale underground americano.
