Gli Smash Mouth sono un gruppo rock statunitense formatosi nel 1994 a San Jose, in California. La formazione originale comprendeva Steve Harwell (voce), Paul De Lisle (basso), Michael Krompass (chitarra) e Randy Cooke (batteria). Il loro stile musicale è caratterizzato da una fusione di power pop, ska e rock alternativo, con influenze punk e surf rock. Il successo internazionale arrivò nel 1997 con il singolo "Walkin' on the Sun", estratto dall'album omonimo. Nel 1999, "All Star" divenne un inno globale grazie alla sua presenza nella colonna sonora del film "Shrek". Altri brani di successo includono "Pacific Coast Party" (2001) e "I'm a Believer" (cover dei Monkees). Dopo la partenza di Harwell nel 2021 per problemi di salute, il gruppo ha continuato con un nuovo cantante. Steve Harwell è scomparso il 4 settembre 2023.
