Thinking about where I'm at now, and how I got here
For telling the world don't back down and just stand up
They try to say:
"You're a rap star, you the man now"
But, I see it differently, I'mma show 'em how I manned up
I ain't gotta be the definition of the raucous
Homie you lost it
I been awake and I am now exhausted
Cause I'm the leader of the caucus
I ain't the alpha, not the omega
I'mma let it go, and I'mma say it
I know what I have it is God given
And that is not to be debated
Nope!
I live it, I love it!
I'm unashamed, I say it in public
I wanna know how to tag up a wall
To write up a verse, and say that I done it
What is the purpose of livin?
I figured out what it is, and I get it!
God gave His son, and I call that love
And I don't wanna take it back to beginning
I don't!
It's a lifestyle
I'm believing it's the right style
I believe that I can rep Christ in the rap words that I write down!
Yo!
We don't conform, we are the items you leave on the shelf!
Free your mind!
Be yourself
Be Yourself (x8)
I used to run with the people that didn't give a word about me
And I know it's true, cause when I walked away
They kept on just runnin' without me
Like, I could be without a heartbeat
And they wouldn't bother to check
But I serve a God of honor, integrity
Always there to interject
These days are the best now, 'cause I changed up
Figured I'll stay true to remind y'all where I came from
And I never tell 'em I made it
I only tell 'em that you made me
I'm held down by the rock now
And I stand tall when I praise thee
Like, woah!
I see with the eyes I was given, but God has incredible vision
Working as Father, as Spirit and Son
It's kinda like simple addition, I know
I step to the plate
You want me to grow?
The bigger the challenge
No more weight on my shoulders
I let it go to get back to the balance
It's a lifestyle
I'm believing it's the right style
I believe that I can rep Christ
In the rap words that I write down!
Yo!
We don't conform
We are the items you leave on the shelf!
Free your mind!
Be yourself
Be Yourself (x8)
Nowadays, everybody wanna talk
Like they've got something to say
And then they press tweet
Everybody wanna talk that loud
But nobody really wanna speak
I'm ain't impressed by the people that follow you
How bout you live what you post
Cause I wanna see all these people in Heaven
Yo, that's what we needin' the most!
How we gon live with a half-heart
And still be expecting benevolence? Huh?
How you tryna work part time
And still walk away with the benefits?
I wanna know!
Cause if I'm His, then i'm livin' in out like it's no shame
Left or right? Hot or cold?
Black or white? But there's no gray!
My God hasn't changed none
He has always been the same one
I'mma go and call His name out
'til the sun's down and the day's done
I used to be feelin' alot worse, I let go and put God first!
And now I'm followin' that one star
With my Chucks on and we converse
And when they try to make me go back
To those dark days, I'm like: oh nah!
'cause they want me to get on that quick flight
But I'mma be taking the road now!
Yo! We don't conform!
We are the items you leave on the shelf!
Free your mind!
Be yourself
