Teena Marie, pseudonimo di Mary Christine Brockert (Santa Monica, 5 marzo 1956 – Los Angeles, 26 dicembre 2010), è stata una cantante e compositrice statunitense di R and B e soul. Considerata un'icona della musica afroamericana, ha venduto milioni di dischi in tutto il mondo durante la sua carriera. Iniziò a cantare da bambina nella chiesa locale e si distinse per la sua voce potente e versatile. Nel 1979 debuttò con l'album "Wild and Peaceful", che ottenne un grande successo grazie al singolo "I Need Your Lovin'". Nel corso degli anni '80, Marie ha collaborato con artisti di spicco come Rick James, Prince e Michael Jackson. Tra i suoi album più importanti figurano "It Must Be Magic" (1981), "Starchild" (1984) e "Robbery" (1989).
