Coalesce è stato un gruppo musicale statunitense formatosi nel 1994. Il loro sound si colloca nell'ambito del post-hardcore, caratterizzato da sonorità aggressive e testi introspettivi. Tra i membri fondatori figura James Dewees, che in seguito ha raggiunto la notorietà come tastierista dei The Get Up Kids. Coalesce ha pubblicato diversi album di successo, tra cui "Functioning on Impatience" (1997), "0:12 Revolution in Just Listening" (1999) e "Ox" (2001). Il gruppo si è sciolto nel 2003 ma ha ripreso l'attività nel 2015. Tra i brani più rappresentativi di Coalesce ricordiamo "The Great Divide", "Give Them Rope" e "Ox".
