Hypocrisy è una band di death metal svedese formatasi nel 1990 a Ludvika da Peter Tägtgren. Considerati pionieri del genere melodeath, hanno un sound caratterizzato da riff pesanti e veloci, ritmi martellanti e testi spesso incentrati su temi dark e apocalittici. Tra i loro album più importanti figurano *Hypocrisy* (1992), *Osmium* (1996) e *Virus* (1997). Tägtgren è noto anche per la sua attività come produttore e ingegnere del suono, lavorando con artisti come Pain e Arch Enemy. Tra i brani più rappresentativi di Hypocrisy si possono citare "The Final Chapter", "Leper Syndicate" e "Hail to the King".
