The Mars Volta è un gruppo musicale statunitense formatosi a El Paso, Texas, nel 2001. L'eclettismo musicale è una caratteristica distintiva del gruppo, che fonde elementi di progressive rock, avant-garde, funk, jazz fusion, punk e noise. I membri fondatori sono Cedric Bixler-Zavala (voce) e Omar Rodríguez-López (chitarra), precedentemente coinvolti nel progetto At the Drive-In.
