Sonata Arctica è una band finlandese di power metal, formatasi a Kemi nel 1995. Il loro sound si caratterizza per melodie orecchiabili, riff heavy e testi spesso ispirati alla fantascienza e al fantasy. Il gruppo ha pubblicato nove album in studio, ottenendo un grande successo internazionale, soprattutto in Europa. Tra i brani più noti figurano "Unia", "Replica", "The Last Time" e "Victoria's Secret". Il loro stile musicale è influenzato da band come Stratovarius, Blind Guardian e DragonForce. Il gruppo ha collaborato con artisti come Timo Kotipelto (Stratovarius) e Tony Kakko (Nightwish). L'album di debutto, "Ecliptica", pubblicato nel 1999, è considerato un classico del genere power metal.
