Buju Banton, pseudonimo di Mark Anthony Myrie, è un cantante giamaicano nato a Kingston nel 1973. Considerato uno dei più importanti artisti della musica dancehall, Banton ha raggiunto fama internazionale negli anni '90 con il suo stile vocale potente e le sue rime incisive. Influenzato politicamente da Marcus Garvey e membro del movimento Rasta, le sue canzoni spesso affrontano temi sociali e politici, promuovendo la consapevolezza e l'unità tra i popoli.
