The Pretenders sono una band rock britannica formatasi a Hereford nel 1978. Fondata dalla cantante e chitarrista Chrissie Hynde, la band ha raggiunto il successo internazionale negli anni '80 con un sound pop-rock caratterizzato da riff di chitarra incisivi, melodie orecchiabili e testi introspettivi. Tra i loro brani più famosi figurano "Brass in Pocket", "Back on the Chain Gang" e "I'll Stand by You".
