Special Ed, pseudonimo di Edward Archer, è un rapper statunitense nato a Brooklyn, New York City. Emerse negli anni '90 con un sound hip hop caratterizzato da rime intricate e testi spesso ironici e satirici. Il suo album di debutto, *Legalize It*, pubblicato nel 1991, raggiunse il successo commerciale grazie al singolo "I Got It Made". Special Ed è noto per aver collaborato con artisti come LL Cool J e Big Daddy Kane. Il suo stile musicale si distingue per l'uso di campionamenti jazz e funk, influenzando la scena hip hop underground. Tra i suoi brani più rappresentativi ricordiamo "I Got It Made", "Funky Child" e "The World Is Yours".
