Joe Strummer and The Mescaleros furono una band musicale formatasi nel 1999 con Joe Strummer, ex frontman dei Clash, alla voce e alla chitarra. Il gruppo ha pubblicato tre album prima della morte di Strummer nel 2002. I membri del gruppo erano musicisti eclettici, molti dei quali esperti in più strumenti. La formazione originale comprendeva: Joe Strummer (voce, chitarra), Antony Genn (chitarra), Scott Shields (basso), Martin Slattery (tastiere, chitarra, flauto e sassofono su alcune canzoni), Pablo Cook (percussioni) e Smiley (Steve Barnard) alla batteria. Richard Flack contribuiva con effetti sonori e altri strumenti. La musica dei Mescaleros era un mix di punk rock, folk e reggae, influenzata dalle esperienze musicali di Strummer. Tra i brani più noti del gruppo figurano "Yalla Yalla", "Long Shadow" e "Rudie Can't Fail".
