Where the shingle rose and tumbles into the ever graven sea,
Where the waves surround the cliff edge, this burden lives with me.
Beneath the filtered beckon, stretch into the sand.
Me, My home, my history, my secret on this land.
In '43 a message came, a sacrifice it seemed.
Each family would leave their home, to meet these fighting schemes.

The raging bullets battering, from those ever youthful hands.
We watched high on the hillside, from the banks onto the beach.
Counted every covered fire, and each blast was sinking deep.
Judgement came in swiftly, we found an armoured shell.
And the cry of panic tore the air, young Leftridge he had fell.
