I Beastie Boys sono un gruppo musicale statunitense formatosi nel 1979 a New York City. Inizialmente hardcore punk, il gruppo ha sperimentato con diversi generi musicali prima di affermarsi come pionieri dell'hip-hop negli anni '80. Il loro album di debutto, *Licensed to Ill* (1986), è stato un successo internazionale, raggiungendo la vetta delle classifiche americane e contribuendo a diffondere l'hip-hop mainstream. I Beastie Boys sono noti per il loro stile musicale innovativo, le performance energiche e i testi spesso ironici e provocatori. Tra i brani più rappresentativi: *Fight for Your Right*, *Intergalactic*, *No Sleep Till Brooklyn*. Il gruppo ha pubblicato numerosi album di successo, tra cui *Paul's Boutique* (1989), *Check Your Head* (1992) e *Ill Communication* (1994). I Beastie Boys hanno vinto un Grammy Award nel 1990 per il miglior album rap.
