Father forgive me but really I'm tired of hurtin' now/ sick of the makeup its fake I feel like a circus clown/ pulling the curtains down/ I wish to be an example of what your church is about/ I really strive but inside my pride has the nerve to doubt / what's frustrating is lust that's makin the urge to shout / but Lord you're keepin me pure, help me to gird my mouth / cuz though I'm burdened it doesn't mean I deserve to pout / instead of crying in trials help me to worship without becoming concerned with how/ my voice is hitting the note/ or making the certain sound/ allow me to first announce / I feel the furthest from perfect dirt in the worst amounts / I stepped apart from the heart but thinking the works will count/ sometimes I speak from my own but say its on your account / I feel so weak and alone/ help me to work this out / father who searches souls / I put your Son in a crown of thorns and a purple robe
Help me to know I'm redeemed/ help me to grow and believe /help me to know that I'm clean/ help me to show that I'm free/ help me to know that I need to be going close to you/ cuz' though I've sinned you have died to cover a multitude/

Father forgive me I took Bathsheba and one'll find, more than a couple times/ in that I've coveted someone or stuff that wasn't mine/ I've got in trouble cuz' I would juggle a double mind / cuz' with perversion I gave permission to come inside / I tried to bow and submit but I got a stubborn spine/ I got a plank but I point out what's in my brothers eye/ help me uncover why/ plus I've discovered why/ I'd be in error or arrogant trying to justify/ something that's just a lie / sometimes I feel like I'm worthless like I was just alive / cuz' when I'm not in Your word I follow the other side /there's so much dark in my heart my flesh would just love to hide / and I know it gets me depressed, I'm such a mess, I confess I'm such a disgusting guy/ help me to be without blame when I stand at judgment time/ father who searches souls/ I put your son in a crown of thorns and a purple robe/

Father forgive me I need direction and leadership/ make my integrity one with which I can lead 'em with / I'm sick of falling and living all In my weakness / I'm sick of actions that don't acknowledge I'm Jesus' / you said be ready despite whatever the season is/ help me acquire your wisdom/ teach me what freedom is/ I read the words that the book entitled Ephesians lists/ speaks of the power that Christ has used to redeem us with/ your mercy grace and compassion Lord I'm in need of this/ please overlook what I've said, I need you to clean my lips/ sometimes my heart is in darkness down in the deepest pits/ instead of walking in righteousness I just flee and quit / I've been deceived cuz' I haven't wanted to read the scripts/ what type of priest is this?/ I know I'm helpless and broke in need of my king to fix/ Father who searches souls/ I put your Son in a crown of thorns and a purple robe!
