Lay it down

And I got a homie that was to go out to a people group/ that's barely
reached with truth/ and tell em the deal, and let em know that He's real --
that Jesus is who they need to choose/ that He's the King of every living
thing that breathes and moves/ tell em repent and believe and hope he sees
the fruit/ I'm really hoping that You see him/ he knows You're awesome and
he wants those cats to see it too/ and Your bible blesses that, and says
those feet are beautiful/ Don't need a screen or a stage, he's down to
serve in private/ you save your life you'll lose it/ but in reverse you'll
find it/ and you can tell by how the fire burning in his eyes is/ he wants
to give it all for Christ, oh yeah, he's burdened by it/ and he ain't
fooled by al the comforts here to stay around/ his eye is on the prize... he
wants the greater crown/ he told me Jesus aint just save us just to play
around/ He gave us life so we could lay it down/

I see it's got you caught, it's dangerous and sweet/ its snagging up your
legs, entangling your feet/ that sin you're feasting on has numbed your
heart/ you want to run to God/ but now it hinders you from running hard/
the Lord, He sees your bondage/ He's got the secret knowledge/ of
everything you want to try and hide and keep in darkness/ if you've been
raised with Christ/ why would you bring dishonor?/when you return just
like a dog returns to eat its vomit!/ you need to stop it, come to the
King and drop it!/ He'll wash you with His blood/ and clean your evil
conscience/ He said we'll be his sons/ He said we'll be His daughters/ so
let's complete our holiness as we believe his promise!/ Come to the rugged
cross -- you know there's grace for you?/ He's caused His saints to mourn
and burdened them to pray for you/ cause though your sin is massive grace
abounds/ for you to slay it now -- so family take your sin and lay it down/

catch it just to get us off the line!/ He held the broken bread, and held
the crimson drink/ said it's His blood and body, so let the picture sink/
just think/ that Christ would sacrifice the Lamb cause/ the Son of Man
was, sent to be a ransom/ how kind a Lord is He?/ died to restored the
weak/ our Shepherd gave His life and supplied it for the sheep/ surely he
took our sins, surely He bore our grief/ on Him was laid the chastisement
that has brought us peace/ they mocked Him as He hung/ they saw the shame
was foul/what type of Lord is this that just a cross could take Him out?/
they missed it, the very phrase from out our Savior's mouth/ Nobody takes
