Verse 1
Who am I? Like you, I'm simply a man of dust -- that's true/ But I got that news that's able to rescue us and to set them captives loose/ You say that's lame man? Ok man, Imma still just kick this plain man/ Bout how my God became man to save man for His name and/ Then extol, Im bigging Him up, He's bigger than us/ He got that fresh flow (grace)/ oh yes He has forgiven us much/ You say who's us some type of club?/ No sir it's that beloved/ That squad who God has copped in love, and He bought us with His blood/ but I really gotta stress that we're a mess though/ but His love and faithfulness show/ that though we go astray like sheep there's a shepherd that can fetch souls/ And He bled for this debtor, cause the wage of sinning means death's owed/ but, in love and He paid that debt like a check that's signed with xoxxo/ Hecks, heck no! This Jesus has no weakness!/ But its easy to get confused but this substitute, He died for the weakest/ so we get, forgiven from sin, delivered and cleansed but peep it/ Forevermore, yo we get the Lord, and yeah we've been restored to see --this is Love

Th-this is LOVE!

Verse 2
This is Love, not starting with us, naw -- but starting with Him/ you heard that God so loved us, that He sent His Son to propitiate for sin?/ meaning that since we all have transgressed, not just in the past, but still/ somebody had to bear that, because this God and His holy wrath is real!/ Christ got killed, got stretched out, got battered and blood got shed/ just see this God-Man, He's God man, but man, that blood was red!/ I'll tell you what Jesus supplied/ got crucified and He died/ so that we, though while still weak and dead, might receive new life and rise/ from the deep pit of sin and death/ from our bondage and distress/ now freed by love and then freed to love and enjoy the Lord, and yet/ I find my love for Him, that though present, it flickers like a flame does/ (yeah) but yet I can trust His love cause I know He never changes!/ from ages to ages, immutable, changeless/ no shifting like them shadows do/ no, He never goes through stages/ and so, at any time, we can look to the cross and know/ that though it's rugged and drenched in blood its, really God's chosen means to show... this is love/

Th-this is LOVE!

I mean how else would I use my time/ than to unpack how God is kind/ in how He made us, then to save us, and sustain and glorify/ Now to you that may get boring, but to me there's nothing better/ than to just think on what my Lord has done to bring us back together!/ And so I tell you of my Shepherd/ Oh man haven't you heard?/ About this Savior come from Nazareth that can save us from the curse/ and if you haven't -- look no further/ Just see Jesus on that hill/ And see Him die for man, and then rise again, so that we might know and feel --This is LOVE!
