Epica è un gruppo musicale olandese di symphonic metal, attivo dal 2002. Le loro sonorità si caratterizzano per l'unione di elementi heavy metal con melodie classiche e orchestrali, creando un sound epico e coinvolgente. Il gruppo è composto da Simone Simons (voce), Mark Jansen (chitarra), Coen Janssen (tastiere), Rob van der Loo (basso) e Ariën van Weesenbeek (batteria). Epica ha pubblicato otto album in studio, tra cui "Consignes" (2003), "The Phantom Agony" (2004), "The Score - An Epic Journey" (2014) e "Omega" (2021). Tra i brani più rappresentativi si ricordano "Cry for the Moon", "Chasing the Dragonfly" e "Forevermore". Epica è considerata una delle band symphonic metal di maggior successo al mondo, con un seguito internazionale di appassionati.
