Frank Vincent Zappa (1940-1993) è stato un musicista, compositore, produttore discografico e regista statunitense considerato uno dei più influenti artisti del XX secolo. Nato a Baltimore, Maryland, Zappa iniziò la sua carriera musicale negli anni '60 come leader del gruppo The Mothers of Invention, con cui pubblicò album innovativi e provocatori che mescolavano rock, jazz, musica classica e avant-garde. Conosciuto per il suo talento polistrumentale, la sua scrittura complessa e le sue performance energiche, Zappa ha prodotto una vasta discografia di oltre 60 album in studio. Tra i suoi brani più rappresentativi figurano "Purple Haze", "Peaches en Regalia" e "Billy the Mountain". Oltre alla musica, Zappa si è dedicato anche al cinema, dirigendo film come "200 Motels" (1971) e scrivendo saggi politici. La sua eredità musicale continua a influenzare generazioni di artisti.
L'attesa è stata lunghissima e molti non ce l'hanno fatta. Ma per chi è ancora tra noi, i Deep Purple hanno pubblicato il video ufficiale di "Smoke On The Water", brano uscito nel 1972.

E' prevista per la prossima estate l'uscita del docufilm "Iron Maiden's Lost Singer", che riguarda Paul Di'Anno, cantante degli Iron Maiden dal 1978 al 1981, che è venuto a mancare a fine 2024.
La storica band mod torinese Statuto ristampa due classici della propria discografia, a partire da venerdì 13 febbraio saranno infatti disponibili per Sony Music gli album "Tempi Moderni" del 1997 e "Riskatto" del 1999. Il primo pubblicato originariamente nel 1997 torna oggi in versione doppio vinile 180 grammi e CD. "Tempi Moderni" contiene 12 canzoni in puro stile "brit e power pop" con ricchi arrangiamenti chitarristici e orchestrali, ammiccanti alle migliori produzioni di
